Dr. Kenneth Chen, Founder of A1 Smart Factory Alliance, was interviewed by reporter《Taiwan Plus》Joyce Tseng in Vung Tau City, Vietnam, on September 4. The interview focused on the role Taiwanese companies can play in facilitating the digital transformation of Vietnam's manufacturing industry.

Taiwan boasts numerous world-renowned high technologies, yet integrating these cutting-edge innovations into overseas factory environments remains a challenge. Many manufacturing industries in Vietnam are not fully prepared for digital transformation, let alone the adoption of AI technology. Dr. Chen leads an alliance of experts across industries to help firms make this transition.

Dr. Chen mentioned that only large companies possess the resources to utilize such expensive equipment. However, for the majority, keeping pace with this trend is challenging, they can't keep up with such a trend, or even have the foundation to do so.

In Asia, such as Taiwan and Vietnam, many companies still rely on people to exchange information, which hinders their ability to solve problems in a timely and effective manner. We need a digital transformation platform that can instantly connect, host and manage all data so that we can leverage AI intelligence technology to optimize operational processes.

When discussing Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, smart manufacturing covers a wide range of topics, and no one company can provide all solutions alone, so we need to integrate all resources and work together.

Dr. Chen pointed out that Taiwan has many people with rich and successful experiences, which makes it difficult for them to adapt to changes. On the contrary, Vietnam is not subject to these restrictions and is full of new opportunities. In fact, many Taiwanese-owned factories in Vietnam are much larger than those in Taiwan.

A typical business must ensure its survival and generate a certain amount of profit to enable reinvestment.AI, like other technologies, serves as a tool for businesses to solve problems, enhance productivity, and boost profits. By identifying the optimal timing for implementing investigation and evaluation, a company can ensure smooth and sustainable development.
